I'm at Raisu Palace with my ranger. To avoid names, the people involved in the pic below are color coded. The jerk (W/Mo) is in red. Another warrior (W/E) is blue. I'm light gray. Red was already on the team when the leader invited Blue.

LOL seems like he just suddenly blew up...

I think he took what the "blue" guy said (we'll see) offensively, as if in disbelief or in a way, belittling him.

I'm now understanding why, when people on this thread say "I kick people who say 'gogogogogogogogo' before a mission starts"...Happened to me yesterday.

I was waiting with my Mesmer in Raisu Palace, trying to get into a group. An assassin invited me. "Oh Dear" I thought, this wont be good. The assassin continued to get a group together and then left it, leaving me as leader. Now, I don't like leading a group, leaves you open to criticism and I am inherently lazy! Nevertheless I continued to find players.

After about 30 seconds, the assassin re-invited himself. I should have kicked him straight away for being a git but since there really wern't many people in there I accepted. Due to the usual lack of healers I decided to persuade my brother to come on with his monk. There were no other monks around so someone suggested we take Redemptor Karl. OK, fine, I wasn't too happy with taking a henchie but I figured the rest of the group weren't either so I thought 'what the hell, what's the worst that can happen?'. My brother announces to the group that he is changing his skills. The assassin says "gogogogogogogogo".

After a minute or so we leave. In the little Kuunavang chamber I ask "talon and danika?" - some warrior says "not talon" - I thought to myself "no, we're taking Talon - he saves us like a 10 minute battle", everyone else was happy with talon so we left. The original assassin then decides to leave, the other assassin then runs in, aggos 3 dragons and whatever else is up the steps, who immediately pwn Redemptor Karl and the assassin.

I said to the rest of the group "urm...no", and swiftly left. Maybe that's bad sportsmanship, but 5 people out of 8 were dead in about 10 seonds so the future didn't look bright (and certainly didn't look Orange)...

Now I have learnt my lesson - no "gogogogog"ers, they're bad news!

Were you on your mesmer? Lots of people like to trade with people by randomly selecting them, presenting their goods, and seeing what offer is given. I assume you did not submit any offers for it, and he probably didn't speak english; and therefore ran off.

I consider it a bad omen, when everybody dies in the first aggro mob we encounter. It generally means that some people are not mentally or physically equiped to meet the challenge. It is best to leave at that moment, instead of resurrecting them all and hope they learned and begin to use their brains. I have bad experiences with this kind of pugs. Nothing sux more than an inpatient pug in bad equipment.
I would leave too. I am sure that they would do fine without me

I absolutely loathe people who say 'gogogogogogogogogo', but only when i'm not leader. Basically the reason is, the party leader seems to follow the gogogoer's pleas and starts the mission without actually letting anyone else set their skills. When i am leader, and when any of the responsible players are leader, we'll be wise enough to wait a while to let everyone set their skills and make sure they're ready. The main rule is: just because one player's ready, doesn't mean they all are. but then everyone knows that ^.^

A certain (suprise suprise) Wammo was out in a mission with us with his monk skils being (yep) HEALING ones.

I had the unfortunate job of being one of 3 monks for this mission, Vizunah Square I belive. Why is 3 not enough? well.......

This guy runs into a HUGE mob and draws ALOT to him. Obviously he loses health fast, I'm spamming healing whisper on him for most of the mission. When we reach the libary he goes on crack and wacks away at other warriors for a bit (despite being told that Rt enemies can res other enemies). Along the way I catch him using HEALING SIGNET while being hit like a bad stepchild off LOADS of enemies (No defensive stances, no nothing). I try to heal the enormus damage he is now taking only to be dazed and eventually the team dies.

He has the nerve to flame the monks for not doing their job, when retorted for using a skill that will cause him to take more damage than he heals in his situation he proceeds to give me the biggest verbal barrage in whisper, block me, then continue to taunt.

He didn't even think to use his HEALING monk skills first o_O

I loathe people who talk big shit about how his last team sucked just before our group goes into HA then trips the timer before we wanted him to at the henchies when we do get in.

I'm thinking perhaps the following build:

Reverse Spam - for 4...6 seconds the next time the spammer spams, the same message gets sent back to him via whisper.
Pocket Holes - For 5 seconds target spammer suffers 3...10 gold degeneration. Hex Spell
Alchemy {Elite} - Steal 10...20 gold from target spammer, if spammer was spamming, spammer is knocked down and you gain a further 20 gold.
Close Communication - For 2...8 seconds, whenever target spammer spams, the message is interrupted and does not appear in chat screen.
Carrier Pigeon - For 5 seconds all messages from spammer are sent to an alternative, random district.
Dissipate - The next time target spammer spams, the spam is interrupted, and nearby players steal 1...6 gold from target spammer.
Saboteur - This spell does nothing for 5 seconds, after which, the spammer's connection lags for 5...10 seconds and spammer is knocked over. Hex Spell
Banish - Banish target spammer to an alternative, random district for 8...20 seconds

Oh...if only....
"STFU SPAMMER" - shout. The nearest spammer's computer explodes, dealing 100-395 fire damage to the player.

Edit: I don't think Anet would implement this one, as it would kill off most of their player base

Well, I think it would be worthwhile to let this thing loose. In a few days, LA district 1 would be capable of being useful again. I cannot remember a time, EVER, when that has actually happened. Player base? Whatever. Just as long it works only on spammers, it would be a nice cleanup of the game's seething underbelly.

Also, I would want this to hit the player with 1...10 lightning damage through the keyboard for every character their spam has generated in the chat window.

There's an elite skill if ever I saw one!! For a skill that good though you'd have to give it to a fairly rock-hard boss...a boss like....Wavecrest Stonebreak!

...hmmm....we'll call him Spiteful Firewall, a Dragon Moss Boss....lvl 30! Put him on right on the north edge of Aborstone, that aught to give people who really want to stop spammers a good challenge! Why are all the great skills held by really mean bosses? Probably an obvious answer to that!

Sorry - I think this may have been slightly off-topic....I got a little lost in my creativity.... I'll be quiet now!

Default Lol I found this more funny than irritating

Since I'm not allowed to use character names, I shall use Bob as the jerks name for this particular post. All grammar and conversation is exactly as it, because I just had to screen shot this, lol.

Setting: LA, District 2, attempting to trade my hydra mini-pet for a siege turtle mini-pet

Me: WTS: Hydra minipet for Siege turtle minpet
Bob (pm): lol your a noob
Bob (pm): hydra is worth 60k tutle is worth worth 25k

Me: and you're funny, honestly
Bob (pm): you will NEVER get that offer
Me: First of all I'm trading MY hydra for a siege turtle kiddo
Me: and Second, both are worth anywhere from 25k-50k from what I've seen, There isn't a 35k difference like that.
Bob (pm):LOL
Bob (pm):wow your a dumbass
Bob (pm): They don't price range that far

Me: Think what you will, as you probably know your opinion means only something to yourself, little one <---(Me being my smartass self to provoke him)
Bob (pm): Little one?
Me: Go look on guru yourself
Bob (pm): I'm probably olderthan you, stfu or I'll crush your skull
Bob (pm): look at a forum?
Bob (pm): LOL
Bob (pm): LOL
Bob (pm): LOL

Me: You'll crush no one's skull little 12 year old one
Bob (pm): forums are made by noobs who htink they know everything.
Me: So you're a frequent user of them are you. Notice that wasn't a question.
Bob (pm): LOL 12?
Bob (pm): im a pro boxer you RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing tardshit

Me: wrong. First of all a "pro" boxer would have better vocubarly and grammar than you (a 12 year old)
Me: Second, go enflate your ego somewhere else kiddo
Bob (pm): well, semi pro going pro, won a tourney just the other day
Bob (pm): lol, bow down to superiority mortal

Me: Yes oh supreme L33t kiddo. Now go play with your leggos
Player <BOB> is ignoring you.

I've done a variety of price checks on the hydra mini-pet, and while I've been told they're "worth" 75k, I've never seen them traded that high. Regardless, it was my hydra and I wanted a siege turtle more, so any loss was not really a problem for me. The best part of this story is that he completely misunderstood my post to begin with. I love 12 year olds, they're so funny when you provoke them.

heh i can see him trying to "help" you at first. telling you the price range and all but i dont see why people care that you want to "lose" money. or something like that.

one time i was in droks (for some reason it was pretty empty now only like 3 districts). And i was looking to buy a Kunvagg for 200k (yeah i know they are only like 100k +3 ecto now? maybe 7..) but i really wanted one and no one really sells them any more that i know of so it was a little more to make someone sell me one.

and as always jerks = guy1,2,3 , etc.

ME: WT B kunvagg mini pet! willing to pay up to 200k!!
Guy1 (actually this guy was somewaht nice) : um you do know that they are worth like 100k +3 ecto right?
ME: yeah i know but i want one bad
ME: do you have one?
GUY1: sadly no but if i did i would sell it to you..GL
ME: ty

ME: WTB kunvagg mini pet! willing to pay up to 200k!!
Guy2: (the jerk): 200k eh? how about i will sell it to you for 240k?
ME: um no 200k is the highest i will go becuase i know they are only worth like 100k +3ecto
GUY2: lol you wish noob. they are worth 300k and im selling it for 240k thats uber cheap

(so i decide to ask in local chat everyone there)\
ME: HEY GUYS HOW MUCH IS A KUNVAGG MINI ET WORTH NOW???
(about 6 ppl wisp me telling me 100K+3 ecto and 5 more say in local the same price)
ME: see? only worht6 100k+3 ecto
guy2: they are all noobs....so 240k deal?
Me: no....i think ill buy from someone else..
(guy2 decides to spam me 240k deal? and noob noob)

i pu7t him on ignore but i guess this guy has a second account and has been doing this for a while becuase all of a sudden this other guy pms me 240k deal? noob noob...

intresting..jerks use more then 1 account now to annoy ppl....

No names? Too bad. I'll call the jerk Jerk instead. (original, i know ) Was on my mesmer at that time.

Jerk: Do you know there are more then 3 slots on the skill bar?
Me: Yes, I do.
Jerk: Why do you only use conjure, healing signet and images of remorse then?
Me: Uhm, no I don't. I use conjure, backfire, healing signet, watch yourself, images of remorse and res signet ON YOU.
Jerk: So? Even an ele could do a better job deging as a mesmer.
Jerk: you only give them -5 health degen.
Me: Uhm yeah, images + conjure sure gives -5 health degen
Jerk? w/e im putting you on ignore.

5 mins later he still didn't ignore me... Telling me that I suck and die fast, didn't die once in that entire mission, and he's a 1 hit miracle and died atleast 8 times...

Hahaha, i can't get enough of this thread. Probably i've been a lucky bastard when it comes to meeting jerks, because until yesterday I didn't encounter one before. But yesterday I hit the jackpot:
We were doing 'Closer to the Stars' where we had to kill all the walking zodiac-thingies. When we started we were playing with only seven guys because the 8th one was afk for 15 minutes leaving us with only 1 tank to do the job. For no obvious reasons the only active tank left the game leaving us with no tank at all. Sucks big-time, we thought, but fortunately, the other tank woke up from hybernation and joined us. We pretty happy of course until that (*&!!! tank started Leeroying every mob he encountered while screaming 'solo-ing FTW' all the time. Of course he died all the time. After dying 2-3 times he started calling us lame players and so on and he finally left the game leaving us with no tanks at all. IT TOOK US 58:00 MINUTES TO FINISH THE MISSION (Partially thanks to some nice monking tips I received on this forum recently, thank ye all!), but we were all too proud to quit. Strange enough what was left was the best PUG I ever played with, but it was quite late until I saw my bed, lol.
